Some minor foxing here and there throughout text. Otherwise a clean and tight book in good condition. This text is a multilingual compilation of speeches, lectures, and other addresses and events from the 1908 Congress. Text is in English, French, and Latin. In the Catholic Church, a Eucharistic Congress is a gathering of clergy, religious, and laity to bear witness to the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist, which is an important Roman Catholic doctrine. Congresses bring together people from a wide area, and typically involve large open-air Masses, Eucharistic adoration (Blessed Sacrament), and other devotional ceremonies held over several days. Congresses may both refer to National (varies by country) and International Eucharistic Congresses. Saint Paschal Baylon is considered the Patron Saint of such Eucharistic Congresses. The first congress was in 1881 in Lille. Each year the congress had become more and more international in nature, and at the invitation of Archbishop Bourne of Westminster it was decided to hold the nineteenth congress in London, the first among English-speaking members of the Church. This is an edited volume of all the addresses at the Congress. It features dozens of texts, mostly in English and French, but with a few in Latin. .
